Lauren Hoard – VIU Mariners

The Mariners were going to need some big performances against an undefeated Capilano squad to earn points last weekend. Cue outside hitter Lauren Hoard, whose efforts offensively and defensively were key to earning a weekend split. She led VIU in kills (29) and digs (20), was second in total offense, and passed well all weekend, punctuated by handling the serve-receive and earning the kill for match point in Saturday’s huge five-set win.
