Lauren Hoard – VIU Mariners

The Mariners rebounded from tough losses to Capilano last week with two wins over the Douglas Royals on the road thanks to a standout weekend from outside hitter Lauren Hoard. She led her club with 28 kills and 37 total offensive points over the weekend while also counting double-digits in digs in both matches: 11 on Friday and 10 more on Saturday. Hoard counted two aces in each match and tied for the team lead in blocks on Saturday with four. The Mariners head into the semester break with a pair of wins and confidence tied a top the standings with eight wins.
