Friday Night Spike Night

A pair of matches will highlight Week 3 of the PACWEST volleyball season which opens on Friday night.

COTR Avalanche @ VIU Mariners – Friday November 4, 5:00pm | WATCH HERE

The Avalanche hit the road for the first time and draw the defending CCAA champion VIU Mariners who are undefeated. They have won three of their first four matches and are coming off a split last weekend at home against the PACWEST champion Douglas Royals. They will make the long 12+ hour bus ride to Nanaimo for back-to-back matches.

The Mariners on the other hand look like a team defending their four-time national gold medal. They have a very balanced offensive attack and have lost just three sets so far this season. This weekend will be their fourth and fifth matches at home already. As a matter of fact, this is the final home weekend until the new year.

The defending PACWEST champion Douglas Royals take their title defence tour into Abbotsford on Friday and face the Bearcats for the first half of the weekend doubleheader. The Royals have won three of their first four matches, but that one setback came in their last match in Cranbrook at the hands of the COTR Avalanche. Their first four matches have all been on the road and this weekend with be their final roady before the holiday break.

The Bearcats meanwhile are still looking for their first win of the campaign after dropping their first four matches. They play their second straight weekend at home after hosting the Camosun Chargers last week.
