Erin Jensen – VIU Mariners

Striker Erin Jensen looked playoff-ready with two excellent performances over two VIU wins to finish off the regular season. In Saturday’s win at Capilano, she timed a perfect run to get in behind the Blues defence and scored only 17 seconds after the second-half kickoff. Later in the game, she caused a Capilano turnover that led to a corner kick and VIU’s third goal. Then in Sunday’s game at Douglas, she played the full 90 minutes and helped open up the field for her teammates to direct 18 shot attempts towards the Royals net. Erin looks to be in top game shape for the right time of the year and will provide a dangerous option for the Mariners down the middle going into the conference championships.
