The Royals meet the Blues and the Mariners host the Falcons

Langara Falcons @ VIU Mariners – 12:30pm – Harewood Centennial | WATCH HERE
The first place Mariners are back at home this weekend and welcome the Falcons for both games in a battle of the top two teams in the Conference. After winning five straight games to open the season the Mariners have won just once in their last three, but that victory was a 3-0 win over the Falcons. As a matter of fact, the Mariners have earned a pair of 3-0 victories over the Falcons in their only two meetings of the season. Keeper Kaiden Thorpe didn’t allow a goal last weekend and was named the PACWEST Athlete of the Week. It’s the final home stand of the season for the Mariners who will try and take advantage of the home cooking.
The Falcons find themselves five points back of the Mariner for top spot. They have stumbled as of late, winning just once in their last five and will need to find a way to solve Thorpe and the Mariners’ defence this weekend to hang onto the second seed. Their offence hasn’t scored in two straight, and they are going up against the top keeper in the Conference. Scoring first on Saturday would help their conference and set them up for success.
Capilano Blues @ Douglas Royals – 1:00pm – Towne Centre Field | WATCH HERE
Don’t sleep on the Royals. By all accounts they have hit their stride scoring points in four of their last five games but still have work to do. They are six-points back of second place in the standings and four up on the Blues for the final playoff spot with four games to go. Winning games this weekend in a doubleheader with the Blues is the utmost importance for the Royals. They have nine goals in their last five games, albeit six of them came in one game, but against the team they will face twice this weekend.
The Blues desperately need to find the back of the net. They have a Conference low five goals scored and have been outscored by the Royals this season 8-1 in two meetings That said, they are only four points back of the Royals for the final playoff spot and have the opportunity to gain ground or even leapfrog them with a pair of wins this weekend.
