Women's Soccer Preview - Week 4
An important weekend for all four teams
PACWEST women’s soccer rolls into Week 4 of the regular season with all four schools playing back-to-back games this weekend.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2025
VIU Mariners @ Langara Falcons – 1:00pm – Langley Events Centre | WATCH HERE
It’s still early in the season, but Saturday afternoon features a first place show down between the Mariners and Falcons in Langley. The Mariners have been red hot to start the season outscoring their opponents 19-4 through the first six games. That said, they suffered their first loss of the year last weekend dropping a 1-0 score on their home pitch. They will meet a Falcons team that has lost just once this season, a 3-0 defeat to the Mariners in their last meeting.
In that game the Mariners scored all three goals in the second half and Kaiden Thorpe made two saves in the clean sheet.
Saturday afternoon is their only matchup this weekend.
Douglas Royals @ Capilano Blues – 1:00pm – Lillooet Park | WATCH HERE
For the second time this season the Royals and Blues will meet on the women’s soccer pitch as they renew acquaintances on Saturday afternoon. In their first meeting the Royals wiped out the Blues for their lone win of the season, 6-0 behind four goals from Isabelle Dobbin.
Outside of that six-goal explosion, both teams are finding it difficult to score goals. The Royals have tallied eight, six in one game, while the Blues have tallied only four. In their respective game last Sunday, they combined to score one goal, which was the only one the Blues would need to sneak a win from the VIU Mariners.
If these teams want to push up the standings, their offence will need to find a rhythm in a hurry.
