For the second straight weekend the Falcons (3-1) and Royals (1-3) open the schedule going head-to-head. Last Saturday the Falcons claimed a 1-0 win when Madison Hung tallied the lone marker of the game. Following the goal, the defences buckled down and allowed minimal opportunities for the opposition with keeper Kate Banozew earning the clean sheet.
The next day for both teams was a different story. The Falcons were smacked by the VIU Mariners 3-0 and the Royals exploded for a 6-0 win over the visiting Capilano Blues.
All eyes on Saturday will be on Royals’ forward Isabelle Dobbin who tallied four goals on Sunday and is the reigning Athlete of the Week. The Falcons backline will need to be aware of where she is on the pitch. Offensively the Falcons have been led by both Hung and Erin Bhandal who each have a pair of goals this season.
The rematch will go on Sunday at 12:00pm, but this time the scene will shift to Coquitlam as the Royals host the Falcons. WATCH HERE

The top ranked team in the CCAA, the Mariners (4-0) are back at home this weekend and will meet the Blues (0-4) for a pair of games.
They last met on Saturday afternoon at Capilano in a convincing Mariners 5-2 victory on the strength of four first half goals, three of which came in a five-minute span. Jada Kamerman had a goal and two assists in the game, while Courtney Ingram scored twice. Kianna Sardari was the lone bright spot for the Blues who scored both their goals.
It’s been difficult for the other three PACWEST teams to solve the Mariners backline as they have given up a total of just three goals while scoring 14. Keepers Kaiden Thorpe and Brooke Ingram have been outstanding in net with Thorpe notching two clean sheets. The Blues will need to play a near perfect road game to steal a win away this weekend.
The rematch is set for Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm on the island. | WATCH HERE
