Chargers Fall in Double OT
The Camosun Chargers left it all on the floor on Wednesday night
The Camosun Chargers opened the 2026 CCAA national championship tournament in exciting fashion pushing their quarterfinal to double overtime before falling to the RSEQ champion Brebeuf 89-76.
With the score still tied after the first overtime session, the Chargers ran out of gas and were outscored 20-7 in the second overtime and were defeated. The PACWEST Player of the Year David Finch struggled which didn’t help offensively finishing with just four points on 1-12 shooting and fouled out.
Overall, the Chargers offence shot 31% in the ballgame led by Cormick Brown’s 20 points on the strength of four-three pointers and Player of the Game Cole Belton added 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
With the setback the Chargers move over to the bronze medal side of the bracket and will face the loser of the quarterfinal between the Humber Hawks and St. Thomas Tommies on Thursday afternoon at 3:00pm.
