The PACWEST Wins Four National Medals

This past weekend the VIU Mariners hosted the 2016 CCAA National Badminton Championships with eight PACWEST athletes participating.

VIU showed the rest of the CCAA a wonderful experience from the awards banquet right through to the medal ceremonies.

The PACWEST finished with a total of four medals.  

Men’s Singles: Graydon Robb (VIU) – Bronze
Women’s Singles: Melissa Liew (VIU) – Silver
Men’s Doubles: Jethro Lai & Mathew Downton (KPU) – Silver
Women’s Doubles: Jacinda Yeung & Michelle Hang (Langara) – Bronze

Also during the tournament both Robb and Liew where announced as All-Canadians and Mariners’ coach Janice Walker was named the CCAA Coach of the Year.
