Chargers Face Bearcats
The third seeded Chargers take on the sixth seed and host Bearcats
#6 CBC Bearcats @ #3 Camosun Chargers - Thursday February 24 – 5:30pm | WATCH HERE
The second women’s quarterfinal at the PACWEST volleyball championship tournament should be an energic one when the host and sixth seeded CBC Bearcats face the third seeded Camosun Chargers at Columbia Place.
The Chargers haven’t seen a lot of live action in the month of February playing in only three matches and winning once. The victory just happened to be against the Bearcats who they will see in the quarterfinal. During the regular season they beat the Bearcats twice in three matches, but this time around will have to deal with a ruckus crowd that will be pro Bearcats at CBC.
For the first time since 2018 the Bearcats are back in the playoffs and will play on their home floor. They come into the championship losing three straight including getting swept by the Chargers on February 6th. They won just two matches this season but one of them came against their quarterfinal opponent, a four-set victory on January 28th at Camosun. It’s been a long time since the Bearcats won a playoff match, in 2013 they beat the Douglas Royals in three sets, then upset the #2 VIU Mariners on route to a PACWEST silver medal.
These two teams last met in the post-season in 2012 when the Bearcats swept the Chargers in three straight sets.
