Blues Win Bronze
The Capilano Blues win PACWEST bronze on Saturday
Capilano Blues 97
Okanagan Coyotes 88
For the second time in three seasons the Blues are PACWEST bronze medalists after an exciting victory on Friday afternoon over the Coyotes.
Both teams caught fire early from the field and sustained their hot shooting over the course of the game. The Blues spread the ball around offensively with nine different scorers led by fifth year senior Kash Lang who ended his career with 21 points and was 12-13 from the free throw line. Sukhraj Garcha was brilliant on both sides of the floor and finished with 21 points and a team high three steals, doing all the little things to secure a medal. Justin Pamintuan provided a major spark off the bench hitting four-three pointers, including two late in the fourth quarter to secure the victory finishing with 19 points.
In a game of runs, the Coyotes just ran out of time in this thrilling back-and-forth game, shooting 57% and knocked down 11-three pointers. Both Phil Holmes Jr and Oaklen Kowal tallied 20 points, with Kowal hitting six of the 11-three pointers.
The bronze medal is the eighth in school history for the Blues.
