For the first time since 2020 the Okanagan Coyotes advance to the semifinals with shootout win on Thursday night over the Langara Falcons.
The Coyotes had a 20+ point lead that evaporated in a highly exciting fourth quarter in which the Falcons cut to within six points, but no further as the Coyotes would not be denied their playoff victory. Overall their offence was led by the hot shooting of Inder Deol named the Player of the Game after eight-three pointers and a game high 29 points. Noah Steingart was a piler of consistency with 18 points and 11 assists while Phil Holmes Jr dropped in 17 and snagged 13 rebounds. As a team they shot 44% and connected on 14-three pointers.
The fourth quarter was high scoring as the Falcons outscored the Coyotes 35-26 desperately trying to get back into his one but fell short of their comeback attempt. Vincent Guerina was terrific in the fourth quarter and finished with a team high 25 points and Ed Asirit added 23. Patrick Robinson put the team on his back in the second half trying to get them back into the game and tallied 14 points and six rebounds.
The victory propels the Coyotes into the semifinal where they will face the #1 Camosun Chargers at 8:00pm on Friday night.
