#5 Douglas Royals @ #4 Langara Falcons – Thursday March 3, 7:30pm | WATCH HERE
The final quarterfinal on Thursday will see a very evenly match between the Falcons and Royals. They played each other three time during the regular season with the Falcons winning twice in November and the Royals winning the final match-up at the end of January. The Falcons shot 38% in the series while the Royals shot 38.7%.
As the tournament begins the Falcons haven’t played in two weeks and won two of their last three games. Since the calendar changed to the new year the Falcons have struggled winning once in nine games which included a six-game slide. Their last PACWEST medal was a bronze in 2018 with the last gold coming in 2014.
The Royals on the other hand have also struggled finding points winning just once in their last four games. Corez Johnson led the offence against the Falcons averaging 18 points a game and Jarrett Jacobs added 14. The Royals are the defending PACWEST champions, winning the title back in 2020 before the pandemic. They have also won a PACWEST medal in the last four seasons.
The winner will face the top seeded VIU Mariners in Friday’s semi-final.
