Men's Week 5 Soccer
The Falcons visit the Mariners and the Blues and Royals duke it out
Men’s PACWEST soccer enters Week 5 of the regular season with just four games remaining on the schedule and the four teams jockeying for positioning.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 4, 2025
Langara Falcons @ VIU Mariners – 3:00pm – Harewood Centennial Park | WATCH HERE
This weekend the teams that bookend the standings will meet for a doubleheader when the first-place Falcons visit the Mariners. They have played twice the season with the Falcons earning six points and outscoring them 5-3 in two very close games. The Falcons have won two in a row and are unbeaten in six games while the Mariners are coming off a win at Douglas. This weekend will be their final two home games.
This matchup features plenty of firepower with two of the Conference’s leading scorers featuring five goals each from David Rodrieguez-Zegarra and Charlie Smith. This could come down to the play of the backline and keepers trying to keep shots out of the net.
Capilano Blues @ Douglas Royals – 3:30pm – Towne Centre Park | WATCH HERE
This will be fun to watch as both teams come into this weekend with identical records with the schedule winding down.
They have met twice this season with each of them winning on the other team’s pitch. The Blues beat the Royals 1-0 in their first meeting with a late goal in the driving rain, then the Royals returned the favour last weekend at Capilano with a 2-0 victory, their only win in their last six games. The Royals need to find a way to score goals with just eight this year, the Conference’s fewest.
The Blues on the other hand have stumbled as of late, winning just once in their last four games and haven’t scored in their last two. Their offensive production numbers have dropped and only have one more goal than the Royals on the season.
Something will need to give this weekend for one of these teams to advance to the standings.

Douglas Royals @ Capilano Blues – 2:30pm – Lillooet Park | WATCH HERE
The scene shifts to North Vancouver on Sunday as these two schools meet for the final time in the regular season. If the playoffs started today, these two would meet in the semi-final.
Langara Falcons @ VIU Mariners – 3:00pm - – Harewood Centennial Park | WATCH HERE
These two schools also meet for the final time this regular season. This should be a very entertaining game with no love lost between them. It’s the final game on the Island for PACWEST soccer this year.
