It’s a battle of the top two teams in the PACWEST standings on the Island as the Mariners and Chargers get set for a home and home. They haven’t seen each other since the first weekend of the season as the Mariners took the matches in four and three sets respectively. The Mariners are still undefeated while the Chargers have dropped the last two after being perfect in the month of January. Oddly enough this same match up occurred last year at the same time and the Chargers handed the Mariners their first lost of the year.

That said, this match up could be a playoff preview. They haven’t met each other since the first weekend of the season when the Royals beat the Blues in four and five sets respectively. The Royals are on a hot streak winning their last four matches while the Blues has dropped two in a row.

The crosstown Abbotsford rivalry heats up with the first match of a home and home as the Bearcats look to play spoiler versus the Cascades. These schools haven’t seen each other since the first weekend of the season when the Cascades swept both matches. The Cascades sit in fifth place but have struggled in the new year winning just twice since turning the calendar. The Bearcats meanwhile haven’t won a match since November 23rd but will be fired up for this rivalry match.
