The home teams would prevail in women’s basketball on Friday with a pair of lopsided games.

The hometown Blues pulled away in the second quarter and never really looked back shooting 47% from the field and nailed 11-three pointers in their seventh victory of the season. Sherrie Errico led the way with a game high 18 points on the strength of three from downtown. Mackenzie Smith was solid down low with 14 points and Reiko Ohama chipped in with 10 points and five assists.
The Falcons shot 32% from the field in the loss and were led by the 17 points from Alexa Leynes. Eloise Faehndrich shot five of eight from the field and finished with 12 points.

Douglas Royals 64
Okanagan Coyotes 49
The final score wasn’t truly indicative of how close this game really was. The Royals led by only six at the half and eight after three quarters. However the Royals found a second gear in the final frame and outscored the Coyotes 16-9 on route to their sixth win of the season.
Offensively the Royals shot just 29% in the win and relied heavily on senior Racheal Beauchamp. She was a force knocking down a game high 27 points and pulled down 13 boards. The only other Royal in double-digits was Sydney Fraess who collected 10 points.
The Coyotes didn’t have much of an answer for Beauchamp. Deziree Day came off the bench for a team high 12 points and Madelanie Postnikoff dropped in 11. As a team they shot 33%.
Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm the Coyotes (5-6) and Royals (6-6) will square off again. WATCH HERE
