The Capilano Blues men's soccer team finished the regular season as the hottest team in the Conference and it carried over into the playoffs, as they won a PACWEST gold medal with a 2-0 shutout over the KPU Eagles.
As he did in the semi-final Bruno Fien-Marinho opened the scoring at the six minute mark. The goal would turn out to be the game winner.
PACWEST Player of the Year Kristian Yli-Hietanen sealed the gold with a goal in injury time, giving the Blues a 2-0 lead.
The Blues gold medal is their first in men's soccer since the 2008 season.
Despite the loss, the Eagles will join the Blues at the CCAA National championship in Saint-Lambert Quebec from November 11-14.
