MENS GOLD MEDAL GAME: Douglas vs VIU

Squamish, BC - The Douglas Royals men’s soccer team are 2012 PACWEST Provincial Champions after defeating the VIU Mariners 3-0 in the final game at Quest University. In the 15th minute of the first half, Sahil Sandhu finished after a corner-kick scramble with a header to open the scoring.
In the second half, a Mariner defender unfortunately deflected a corner kick into his own net, putting Douglas up 2-0. In the closing stages of the second half, Jag Gill netted a third goal for the Royals which proved to be enough for the victory.
Jordan de Graff (VIU) and Jag Gill (Douglas) were named players of the game. Both teams will now represent BC at CCAA nationals, hosted by Douglas in less than two weeks time.
