PACWEST

Sadie Ball

In only her first year in the PACWEST, Sadie Ball has proven that she is force to be reckoned with.  Ball has consistently shown up in the top 10 in the league in Digs, Kills and Total Offense from week one of the season thanks to steady performances like the ones she turned in this past weekend, helping her Bearcats to a sweep of the Douglas College Royals.  Ball had 11 kills and 17 digs on Friday evening while committing no serve receive errors on 17 attempts as CBC knocked off the Royals 3-0.  She followed that up with 20 kills, 2 stuff blocks and 15 digs on Saturday while committing only one serve receive error on 32 attempts in a 5 set marathon.

However, it was the freshman’s play under pressure that set her apart on the weekend.  With CBC leading 8-6 at the crossover in set 5 on Saturday, Ball took over the match offensively, scoring 6 of the Bearcats last 7 points on a stuff block and 5 kills including a thundering line shot from the right side of the floor for match point.  “Very simply, Sadie does not play like a rookie.” noted Bearcats coach Duncan Harrison.  “Day in and day out, whether in matches, at practice or in the weight room, Sadie conducts herself like a veteran player in the conference.  I am excited to see what the future holds for her”.
