CBC Bearcats (0) at UFV Cascades (3)

 

The Cascades handled their cross-town rivals in the first of a home and home series, winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-11). It was UFV’s fourth win in a row. Kayla Bruce had 13 kills and 5 blocks on defence for the Cascades. Brittany Stewart handled offence with 13 kills, and Krista Hogewoning finished with 6 digs, 10 kills and 3 aces. Sharaya Schulte had 13 digs for the Bearcats, and Anna Cupido added 9 digs.

 

Friday February 15

 

Capilano Blues (3) at Douglas Royals (0)

 

The Blues defeated the Royals in straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-21). Capilano was led by Sydney Thornton with 14 digs and 8 kills, and Jaqueline Caverly added 14 digs. Sara Perterson added 12 digs and 9 kills and Mika Chow had 12 digs on defence for the Blues. The Royals were led by 2nd Team All-Star Victoria Hocking with 12 digs and 12 kills.

 

Camosun Chargers (0) at VIU Mariners (3)

 

The Mariners defeated the Chargers in the first of their weekend series 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-16). The Chargers’ Kelsey Johnson had 14 digs and 3 kills, while Hilary Graham added 8 digs, 16 kills and 3 aces. Mariah Holmstrom added 8 digs for the Chargers.

 

Saturday February 16

 

UFV Cascades (3) at CBC Bearcats (0)

 

The Cascades finished the season with another win over CBC in straight sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-16). Jenna Evans provided offence this time with 13 kills and Brittany Stewart added 9 kills. Krista Hogewoning added 10 digs, and Kierra Noot had 11 points on offence. The Cascades finish the season at 22-2 and in first place. For the Bearcats, Sadie Ball had 9 digs and 10 kills, while Shelby Neufeld added 12 digs. Sharaya Schulte had another 11 digs on defence. The Bearcats finish in third place at 13-11.

 

Douglas Royals (0) at Capilano Blues (3)

 

The Blues swept the weekend series in straight sets again, winning 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-16). Jacqulein Caverly continued her strong play with 18 digs, and Sara Perterson added 10 digs and 8 kills. Farren MacDonald had 10 kills and 14 points on offence. The Blues finished the season 10-14, just two points ahead of Camosun and in fourth place. The Royals’ Victoria Hocking had 11 kills, while Rachelle Flores added 10 digs on defence. The Royals finish 6-18 and in sixth place; they will face the CBC Bearcats in the first round of the playoffs.

 

Camosun Chargers (0) at VIU Mariners (3)

 

The Mariners took the weekend series 2-0 by defeating the Chargers in three sets (25-17, 25-17, 25-19). Camosun’s Kelsey Johnson had 12 digs and 4 kills, and Hilary Graham added 9 digs, 7 kills and 1 block. The Mariners finished the season in second place at 21-3. The Chargers finish in fifth place at 9-15 and play Capilano in the first round of the playoffs.
