UFV Cascades (0) at Camosun Chargers (3)


The Chargers handled UFV in straight sets, winning 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-15). Third-year leftside Jeremy Finn (Westbank, BC) led Camosun to victory with 14 points (4 aces, 9 kills, 1 block). Third-year power Alex Wolf left with a total of 13 offensive points which included 2 aces, 8 kills and 3 blocks. Rookie Kurtis Stromdahl had 5 digs and 9 kills for the Cascades, and Josh Togeretz had 11 points on offence. The Chargers improve to 10-7 and in fourth place, just two points behind Capilano. The Cascades drop to 2-15 and hold the last playoff spot over the Bearcats.


CBC Bearcats (0) at VIU Mariners (3)


The Mariners swept the Bearcats in straight sets ( ). Zach Grigg had 12 kills, 3 digs and 3 aces for VIU, and Tory Zaytsoff added 7 digs and 10 points on offence. Dillon Collett also had 8 digs, 6 kills, and 4 blocks for the Mariners. CBC was led by Jadon Ward with 9 kills. The Mariners are in second place at 11-6. The Bearcats drop to 2-15 and will fight the Cascades for the final playoff berth.


Douglas College (3) at COTR Avalanche (0)


The Royals swept the Avalanche, winning in three sets (25-18, 26-24, 25-19). The Royals are 18-1 and look to have first place sealed up; the Avalanche are 7-10 and in fifth place. Curtis Stockton had 11 points on offence for COTR, and Mitch Duthie added 6 digs and 7 kills. (No stats available for Douglas College).

UFV Cascades (1) at Camosun Chargers (3)


The Cascades won the first set, but the Chargers buckled down to win the next three and the match 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22). Fifth-year rightside Andrew Inglis led Camosun to today’s win scoring 20 points (4 aces, 15 kills and 1 block). Third-year leftside Jeremy Finn made another impressive performance with his 15 points (13 kills and 2 blocks) and 16 digs. The Cascades were led by Kurtis Stromdahl with 12 digs and a season-high 17 kills. Joel Kleingeltink added 15 kills,  while Victor Zych had 14 digs on defence for the Cascades and Josh Togeretz added 9 digs and 10 kills. The Chargers improved to 11-7 and are in third place with the same record as the Blues. The Cascades drop to 2-16 and are in a fight to make the playoffs.


CBC Bearcats (0) at VIU Mariners (3)


The Mariners won their second match of the weekend at home to CBC. Dillon Collett had 5 digs and 15 offensive points to lead VIU, while Tory Zaytsoff added 10 digs and 7 kills. For the Bearcats, Emmauel Denguessi had 11 digs and 3 kills, and Jadon Ward added 8 kills. The Mariners stay in second place at 12-6, just ahead of Camosun, with their third win in a row. The Bearcats are 2-16, tied with the Cascades and out of the playoffs right now by virtue of the tie-breaker.


Douglas College (3) at COTR Avalanche (0)


Douglas wrapped up a perfect weekend with a 3-0 win over COTR (25-20, 25-16, 25-14). Kellan Ward and Nicholas Schmidt each had 9 digs for the Avalanche. The Royals continue their dominance of the league and are 19-1. The Avalanche drop to 7-11 and comfortably in fifth place.  (No stats available for Douglas College).
