Ali Bosir is a fourth-year centre and team captain with the Eagles. In the opening home games of the back-half of the season, the Eagles hosted the Capilano Blues on Friday and the Quest Kermodes on Saturday.
During the game against the Blues, Bosir accumulated a massive 41 points (29 of which came directly in the second half) to contribute almost half of the Eagles total game points (47%). In addition to this monstrous point total, he put up 21 baskets in 23 attempts at the free throw line for 91% accuracy. Bosir also added 18 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block shot. Although a marginal loss to the Blues, it was Bosir’s performance that kept the Eagles in the game and narrowed the gap considerably.
On Saturday, Bosir continued to show a presence on the court by leading the Eagles in points and putting up 26 points on the scoreboard. In this game, he made 13 of 18 free throws (72%) and also collected 18 rebounds and 4 assists in the commanding 102-83 victory over the third-place Quest Kermodes.
Over the course of the weekend, Bosir posted a mammoth 67 points with 34 points coming from 41 attempts at the free throw line (a massively impressive 83% accuracy). He also combined for 36 rebounds which should all but cement his lead in the PACWEST rebound standings.
