The Royals Men’s Volleyball team began 2012 the same way the finished 2011, on the road against another tough regional opponent.  The opposition this time were the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades. Jeff Taylor was instrumental in this past weekend’s matches. Friday night, overcoming many multiple delays, the match finally started. The Royals won the match 3-1 led by dominating performance by 5th year Right Side, Taylor.  Taylor showed a vast arsenal of shots finishing with 24 kills and only 3 errors. He also chipped in 3 blocks, 2 aces and 4 digs, combining for a match high, 29 points.

In Saturday afternoon’s rematch, Taylor was once again a significant contributor posting 15 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace and 4 digs in another Douglas 3-1 victory. On the Weekend, Taylor’s attack efforts were outstanding with a kill percentage of 57% and an attack efficiency of over .400

Douglas travelled to Vancouver Island University back on October 28th and 29th where they split the weekend handing VIU their only loss of the 2011-12 campaign to date. It is now VIU’s turn to make the road trip as the Royals prepare to host them this coming weekend.
